April Meeting

iMovie v 7.1.1 included in iLife '08
Wednesday, April 30, 2008
at 7:30 p.m.

iMovie is video editing software. It is free with every new Macintosh.

Maria O. Arguello, MUGSNJ member, will make a project using iMovie from beginning to end. She will show you how easily, quickly and creatively it is to edit the raw footage from your digital camcorder, still camera, or movie clips from Elgato's EyeTV tuner.

iMovie is the world's least expensive version (free with every new Mac) of the nonlinear editing software which means that no tape is involved when you're editing. The "nonlinear" part is a Hollywood term. You can jump instantly to the good pieces of footage that you wish to include in your masterpiece. No more boring home videos that put the family to sleep.

iMovie '08 is different form its predecessors but it has a charm of its own. Maria especially loves the fact that there is no "rendering" time. You are free to explore with the timing and placement of effects, music, and so on in real time.

Digital Photography SIG will meet before the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
